Wow! It’s been a week since I returned from the national senior and youth conference and my head is still spinning! I literally took an entire notebook of notes and I’m sure I didn’t get everything!
Last year was the first year of this conference and me being so new as it was I’ll just say it I was scared to enter the print competition. To have your work out there for everyone to see really makes one quite vulnerable. This year I had every intention of entering and then I went all chicken again. At the last minute I emailed one of our local guild members, Dan Harris, and asked if he could print mine for me. I literally picked up my entries on the way out of town and am so very thankful for Dan who was so encouraging and positive. So this long story is really just saying GO FOR IT!
So without further ado here is my boy entry that won third place! I was over the moon that it won an “Award of Excellence” (the top 50% earned this award) but to place in the top 8 with the most amazing photographers and to hear my name called was the most surreal moment!

I am so grateful for this conference to get me energized for the next season as well as new and amazing ideas that I can bring back to my clients. I am so excited to already start getting some new things in place and we’ve had an amazing 2010 Senior year and can’t wait for 2011!
